IELTS Reading

IELTS Reading section ले तपाईंको reading comprehension, vocabulary understanding, र information analysis skills evaluate गर्छ। यो section मा candidates ले academic texts वा general passages पढेर विभिन्न types का questions answer गर्नुपर्छ।

IELTS Reading test मा 3 passages हुन्छन् र कुल 40 questions हुन्छन्।
यस section को total time 60 minutes हुन्छ र answer transfer गर्न extra time दिइँदैन (especially computer-based test मा)।

  • Main idea identify गर्ने ability
  • Specific information खोज्ने skill
  • Writer’s opinion बुझ्ने क्षमता

True / False / Not Given Tips

True / False / Not Given (TFNG) IELTS Reading को सबैभन्दा confusing question type मध्ये एक हो।

यसमा statement दिइन्छ र तपाईंले passage अनुसार decide गर्नुपर्छ:

True → Statement passage सँग match हुन्छ
False → Passage मा opposite information हुन्छ
Not Given → Passage मा त्यो information नै mention गरिएको हुँदैन

Important Tips

1️⃣ Keywords Identify गर्नुहोस्
Statement मा important keywords खोज्नुहोस् र passage मा same idea locate गर्नुहोस्।

2️⃣ Synonyms ध्यान दिनुहोस्
IELTS मा exact words rarely repeat हुन्छन्।
Example:

Statement:
The number of students increased.

Passage:
There was a rise in student enrolment.

👉 “increase” र “rise” synonym हो।

3️⃣ Assumption नगर्नुहोस्
यदि information passage मा छैन भने answer Not Given हुन्छ।

4️⃣ Opposite meaning ध्यान दिनुहोस्
यदि statement passage को opposite छ भने False हुन्छ।

Matching Headings Strategy

Matching Headings question मा तपाईंले paragraph को main idea identify गरेर correct heading match गर्नुपर्छ।

यो question type IELTS Reading मा धेरै students लाई difficult लाग्छ।

Effective Strategy

1️⃣ First headings पढ्नुहोस्
सबै headings first read गर्नुहोस् ताकि idea थाहा होस्।

2️⃣ Paragraph को first sentence focus गर्नुहोस्
धेरै cases मा main idea first sentence मा हुन्छ।

3️⃣ Main idea identify गर्नुहोस्
Paragraph को overall message बुझ्नुपर्छ।

4️⃣ Similar headings बाट confuse नहुनुहोस्
IELTS मा deliberately similar headings राखिन्छन्।

Example:

Heading A: Causes of pollution
Heading B: Effects of pollution

Paragraph carefully analyze गर्नुपर्छ।

Sentence Completion Tips

Sentence Completion question मा incomplete sentence दिइन्छ र तपाईंले passage बाट missing words find गर्नुपर्छ।

Usually instruction हुन्छ:

NO MORE THAN TWO WORDS

Important Tips

1️⃣ Word Limit follow गर्नुहोस्
यदि instruction two words हो भने 3 words लेख्दा answer wrong हुन्छ।

2️⃣ Grammar check गर्नुहोस्
Answer sentence मा grammatical fit हुनुपर्छ।

Example:

Sentence:
The experiment was conducted in a ______.

Passage:
The experiment took place in a controlled laboratory environment.

Correct Answer → laboratory

3️⃣ Passage order follow हुन्छ
Questions normally passage order अनुसार आउँछन्।

IELTS Reading Time Management

IELTS Reading मा 60 minutes हुन्छ, त्यसैले proper time management धेरै important हुन्छ।

Recommended Strategy

Passage 1 → 15 minutes
Easy passage हुन्छ, fast complete गर्नुपर्छ।

Passage 2 → 20 minutes
Medium difficulty हुन्छ।

Passage 3 → 25 minutes
सबैभन्दा difficult passage हुन्छ।

1️⃣ Skimming practice गर्नुहोस्
Main idea छिटो बुझ्न help गर्छ।

2️⃣ Scanning use गर्नुहोस्
