Here’s a sample Band 7–8 level answer for IELTS Speaking Part 1 – Topic: International Food using natural, fluent English with a variety of grammar and vocabulary:

1. Can you find food from many different countries where you live? [Why/Why not?]
Yes, definitely. I live in a city that has become quite international in recent years, so it’s easy to find food from many different countries. There are Chinese, Indian, Italian, and even Mexican restaurants. I think globalization has really influenced the food scene here, and people are more open to trying different cuisines.

2. How often do you eat typical food from other countries? [Why/Why not?]
I’d say I eat international food at least once or twice a week. Sometimes I go out to eat, and other times I order takeout. I really enjoy the variety—like sushi from Japan or pasta from Italy. It’s also a nice break from my regular home-cooked meals.

3. Have you ever tried making food from another country? [Why/Why not?]
Yes, I have. A while ago, I tried making Thai green curry at home. I watched a recipe on YouTube and gave it a try. It didn’t taste exactly like the restaurant version, but it was still quite good. I like cooking, so I enjoy experimenting with new recipes from different cultures.

4. What food from your country would you recommend to people from other countries? [Why?]
I would recommend momo, which is a type of dumpling popular in Nepal. It’s filled with vegetables or meat and served with a spicy dipping sauce. Most people who try it really enjoy it. It’s flavorful, easy to eat, and represents our culture well.

Describe a law that was introduced in your country and that you thought was a very good idea.

You should say:

  • what the law was
  • who introduced it
  • when and why it was introduced
and explain why you thought this law was such a good idea.

Sample Answer (as spoken in the test):

One law that was introduced in my country and that I believe was a really good idea is the ban on plastic bags. This law was introduced by the government a few years ago to help protect the environment and reduce pollution.

The law made it illegal for shops and businesses to use or distribute single-use plastic bags. Instead, people are encouraged to use cloth bags or other reusable alternatives. It was introduced around 2018, if I remember correctly, and it came after a lot of concerns about plastic waste harming rivers, wildlife, and even affecting human health.

I think it was a great idea because plastic bags were being used everywhere, and people didn’t think twice before throwing them away. They would end up clogging drains, littering the streets, and polluting water sources. Since the ban, many people have become more environmentally aware and have switched to eco-friendly habits.

Overall, I feel this law was not only good but necessary. It’s a small change, but it can have a big impact in the long run. It also sets a good example for younger generations about how important it is to take care of the environment.

Here’s a Band 7–8 level model response for IELTS Speaking Part 3 based on the two discussion topics shown in your image: School rules and Working in the legal profession.

Topic: School Rules

1. What kinds of rules are common in a school?
In most schools, there are rules related to discipline, attendance, and dress code. For example, students are usually expected to wear uniforms, be punctual, and not use mobile phones during class. There are also rules about respecting teachers and classmates, as well as maintaining cleanliness in school premises.

2. How important is it to have rules in a school?
I think rules are very important because they help create a safe and structured environment. Without rules, there could be chaos, and learning would be difficult. Rules also teach students responsibility and respect for others, which are valuable life lessons.

3. What do you recommend should happen if children break school rules?
It depends on the severity of the rule being broken. For minor issues, a warning or a short counseling session might be enough. But if a student keeps breaking rules or does something serious, there should be appropriate consequences—like detention or involvement of parents—so that the student understands the impact of their behavior.

Topic: Working in the Legal Profession

1. Can you suggest why many students decide to study law at university?
Many students choose law because it’s a respected and rewarding profession. Some are passionate about justice and want to make a difference in society. Others are drawn to the career opportunities, good income, or the challenge of solving complex problems.

2. What are the key personal qualities needed to be a successful lawyer?
To be a good lawyer, one needs strong communication and analytical skills. Confidence is important, especially when speaking in court. Also, a successful lawyer should be honest, patient, and detail-oriented, because legal work often involves a lot of reading and interpretation of laws.

3. Do you agree that working in the legal profession is very stressful?
Yes, I do. The legal field is very competitive and demanding. Lawyers often work long hours and deal with difficult cases that require a lot of mental energy. There’s also a lot of pressure to win cases or give the right advice. So, while it can be fulfilling, it definitely comes with a high level of stress.
